Keith Rollins is the owner of Rollins Construction Inc., a custom home builder based in Murphy, NC. He came up through the trades on job sites before starting his own company. Here is how he tells it:
“Growing up on job sites sparked my interest in building well before I was able to read a measuring tape. After high school, I worked a number of different construction jobs, learning each trade a little at a time, with the hope of one day being the one they referred to as 'the contractor.'
I believe the hard work and dedication I use to fulfill that position today show in each project we do. I enjoy taking raw land and turning it into what people dream of. Building is a passion of mine. It is something I take seriously, and that is something you will appreciate when working with us.”
Work with the owner
Rollins Construction Inc. builds custom homes and does the site work that comes before them, across the service areas around Murphy.
Keith meets with you himself. The first conversation covers the house, the lot, and a budget that fits the plan. It is also where he learns how you want to live in the house: how many bedrooms, which way the porch should face, whether the garage needs room for a shop. Those questions are easier to answer early than after the walls are up. From there the job follows the steps on our process page, through permits with your county and the final walkthrough. Rollins Construction Inc. holds NC General Contractor License #106234, and we have spent 10 years building homes here.
Keith keeps the site work and the house under one contractor on purpose. If a question comes up halfway through the build, there is no second company to call. You call Keith, and he already knows the answer or goes and finds it.
Before the first meeting it helps to gather what you have: the lot address or a pin on a map, any survey or plat, photos of the land, and a plan or a few pictures of homes you like.
