Steps

    Initial consultation

    We meet in person. You talk through the house, we start a floor plan, and we set a budget so the plan is one you can build. Bring a sketch, a floor plan, or only a description of how you live. You are talking with Keith.

    Homesite and plan

    We evaluate the homesite and fit the floor plan to it. Slope, access, rock, and drainage decide details a drawing cannot see. If you do not own land yet, we can discuss what to consider when choosing a homesite and what the land may require for construction. The towns are on our service areas page.

    Contract

    We go over the details, make the last changes, and talk through what happens after you sign. You get a written price for the project we have defined. If something is still unknown, we say so. When you are ready for that conversation, contact Keith.

    Permits

    We put the permits in place for the project we are building, then we break ground. Cherokee, Clay, Graham, and Macon counties each have their own building inspections department. We file with the county the lot is in.

    Under construction

    You hear about every stage, from excavation to the final touches. If the ground shows something the surface hid, we tell you. Grading itself is described under excavation and grading.

    Final walkthrough

    We walk the finished home together, note anything that still needs a hand, and make sure it is what you expected. Finished work and site work we can show are in the gallery.
